Business owners beware

My shop was shut down twice in a week before my first market. On the phone with customer support for hours, this is not worth it and no way to treat small business owners. I should have gone with Square!!! I HATE Shopify!!!!!!

Stole my money

I opened and store and didn’t have time to list. They didn’t care and stole my money I wrote to them they do not reply. Dot trust them they will steel your money like they stole mine !

New Update Slowed Everything Down

The app was working fine and then I updated it and now when I type in a sku and tap on the item, it lags. It’s slowing down my checkout process.

Unacceptable

Holding my payouts and no answers to why or when I will receive them !! I call everyday and chat online EVERYDAY . Nothing is happening and still no answers! Worse place EVER TO MANAGE YOUR BUSINESS ! Don’t do IT

New update isn’t fully functional - longer check outs

Can’t add a discount to individual items, app automatically applies discount to separate items and still doesn’t apply the discount, or allow the user to save discount percentage or dollar amount in the discount percentage and amount bars. Longer receipt process.

Update Issue

This new update has made the checkout process so much longer than it needs to be. You now have to click through 2 extra screens involving printing a receipt when in previous versions you could do it all in one. I don’t see how this update makes anything easier. It only serves to make the checkout process longer and more cumbersome.

Can’t type quantity

With the new update, you can’t manually add the quantity, you have to tap the plus button to the desired value which is not reliable.

Great. But please add sales total while calculating a sales discount.

Customer Service/app format

They’re not very good at communicating when issues come up. Its hard to get in touch through their customer service. In all honesty, I can handle the terrible customer service but whats worse is the app format. They’ve recently added some features that does help make it easier to check out. However, their most recent update drives me up the wall. When I add monies to my cash drawer, its policy to notate which bills/coins need to be added, but their most recent update makes this impossible. The window that pops up for me to type in the amount is too big. I tried scrolling down to access the notes window but no matter what I do I cannot access it. Its incredibly frustating.

Removed features to charge more.

What a shame. Update. They started charging to calculate tax as well. They convince you to build on their platform and continue to raise rates

Hate it.

It crashes several times a day. Cant connect to the printer scanner or card reader consistently. No way to tell how long inventory has been on the shelf. Their “insights” only go back 90 days. It is a daily embarrassment to ask customers to please wait while we reboot the system just to make a simple transaction.

Card reader

I wish this program was a true mobile app and would take cards off line. There is so many times that internet is terrible in the area and the program is useless. Have to take cash ONLY I hate losing sales, will there ever be a solution to this problem or go back to square.

Absolutely archaic

With each update, they make the app lesson intuitive and slower to use.

App is now asking for a PIN

I had this app on my phone. In preparation for in-person selling, I installed this app on a new iPad. That iPad is no longer available for use, and now the app installed on the phone is asking for a PIN, which I NEVER instituted a PIN with this app!! I have tried several times to uninstall the app from my phone, and also uninstalled the sales channel and reinstall the app, all to no avail because the app on my iPhone continues to require a PIN, which I do not have!! How can I permanently delete this app and the data or change the PIN?

The update interupt my business

I can't operate my business because the update from no ưhere and my device is too old for he update. Think about your custumer business before any major update.

Stop adding more clicks to get through checkout

Make the all buttons big again. Retail is fast paced we dont need tiny buttons that are difficult to hit quickly. This new update makes the add to cart button even smaller. There are now additiaonl clicks to add items to the cart. Prolonging checkout times it a total pain.

Every new update makes things worse

This app is still functional, but every new update over the course of the last year or so has added needless steps or changed something that wasn’t broken to begin with. Extra time added on to every single sale whether through the app becoming increasingly laggy or unnecessary steps.

Stop changing

Omg, for the love of god, stop changing things. Your constant reshuffling makes it impossible to use

Can’t log in

When I try to log in it kicks me back everytime

Barcode scanner no longer works

Scanner stopped working out of no where. Have tried all troubleshooting. Nothing works. Worked flawless last week for over a year and now nothing. Please fix as this streamlines my checkout process at small vendor events. When using the barcode the camera opens but does nothing not even a message saying it doesn’t recognize the barcode.

Laggy.

Very slow and tap to pay works only sometimes. It will say there are connectivity issues but running a speed test on a laptop on the Dane WiFi says the WiFi is fast. Even changing between screens that don’t require payment can sometimes take a while.

Need better QA process

Latest version doesn’t have any way to exit certain screens. Like the hardware setup and order confirmation screen. There is no back or close button and swiping down does nothing. The only way to exit is to force close the app.

No customer support at all.

Shopify does not allow you to get a refund, I used this app for my store only as a trial. I really hope someone one the support team reaches out to me for a full refund. They tell you to contact support but it is impossible as they send you back to the website over and over without any assistance. Stay away or aware of this app and developer.

Checkout button grayed out???

This app has been working just fine for months, and was fine yesterday, but now the checkout button will NOT turn blue and I CANNOT click on it to check customers out - what is happening??? Please fix!

Be wary of Shopify and use another platform

Keep fixing things that weren’t broken and breaking them

Bravo. You’ve managed to amaze me. Not in a good way. But amazed none the less.

No customer info?

It’s impossible to do returns because every single sale from contactless payment says “no customer”. We have to give customers a gift card as credit instead. Not great and an awkward experience for customers. You can’t do discounts with decimals point percentages off (like 12.22%) to get an even number on a sale item. So that makes us have to do manual discounts we have to apply and make multiple shortcuts in our system. If you have variants in your products like sizes, it takes a long time to click into the product and select. Slow. Makes the check out time take a long time when someone if buying multiple items.

Update 9.0.0

Rating as 1 star but I would rate as 0 if I could. If this change is reverted the rating will change back to five stars. The miniaturization of certain UI components that was introduced with this update (search as the search bar above the tile grid) is terrible. These are key components that need to be accessible quickly and making the components harder to find is not ideal in a retail situation. The new blue gradient that was added behind the grid is a obtuse nuance as the proportionality of the grid is not orthogonal to the rest of the UI components.

Slow checkout process

The app is great, but it’s still not at the right level of checkout efficiency that I require. Whenever I scan a barcode with a handheld scanner, it requires additional steps, such as selecting the color and size. The barcode is already assigned to a unique product so why bother with all these extra steps. The card readers also always disconnect are not that efficient.

Hates the card reader

Works fine as long as you don’t use tap and chip. You’ll spend hours to pair this thing up for it to unlink when you have a sale. So cash is king…lol. Getting a support rep is easy if you like an AI chat repeating the same response over and over until you get a person. Then, a rehash of what you’ve already tried to do it again. Adding in the additional frustration of texting the whole back and forth in communication, when a phone call would’ve been quicker and easier for the business side. But, I get it. They already sold us the thing, what a better way to get us to buy another device instead of fixing the problems. Also, there are random updates that will cause the whole to go down at predictable intervals, like Black Friday, tax season or back to school. Then nothing will connect again. Have fun.

Look at other options

They doubled the card processing fee unless you move to the premium tier…which they also jacked up the price on. Ridiculous given that you get the same features from Lightspeed or Square for half the cost.

Credit card processing stopped working

What happened? It worked yesterday and now it doesn’t.

App continually crashes.

Tap to pay on iPhone issues

This feature was already hit or miss, but it hasn’t worked in a while. I have missed out on sales due to this. I have contacted customer service and troubleshooted. I have ordered a new reader so I hope that helps.

Requires restarting the phone every few minutes

Used the app for the first time in a trade show and was excited when the first tap to pay went through. Then every transaction after had it grayed out. Going into settings showed it disconnected and said to “restart the phone” for my new IPhone 14 Pro. Every time a customer had to wait for the phone to restart and then tap to pay worked. If it could stay connected I’d rate it a 4 since the interface could use improvement when navigating, but it is usable and a good starting point.

Great in theory

Mostly works great with one major flaw. The contactless payment rarely works when needed. There is usually some update that needs to happen (my apps are set to update automatically but for some reason this one never does) or some other troubleshooting you can do to get it to work eventually but it’s of little help when you’re trying to use it with a customer. You don’t want to sit and troubleshoot in front of them. Instead, the vast majority of my orders have to be done manually. It’s not the end of the world but certainly doesn’t feel very professional when it’s clearly not working as anticipated.

Can’t enter manual code

I have a discount code for a free item on the app, but whenever I try to add it the cart it says invalid code. I can enter a percent or amount off just not the code

App is great, connection not so much

The app itself is awesome, the tap and chip reader on the other hand regularly disconnects and it’s impossible to connect again :(

shoot.. where do I start? well, just scroll through the neg reviews they're all true. been an unhappy user for 3 yrs now.

Poor function and poor support

Discounted line items add up to a different total at the sum of the sale. When brought up with tech support the only response received was; “Expected Behaviour”. I interpret this as they just don’t care that they can’t do math. This is only one of the many bugs I have presented and they don’t seem to care.

breaks Bluetooth connections on every update

Only way to fix is a network reset. It doesn’t even list the device for removal.

DO. NOT. TRUST. EVERRRRR

I went months with no issues, all of a sudden they steal my money and tell me they’re holding all of my money for 6month and DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A REASON WHY. THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER!!!! DO NOT TRUST THEN WITH YOUR BUSINESS !!!! Total violation of my rights and the law and you will be hearing from my lawyer They don’t have customer service. The help center is a joke. Do not trust them with your business

Terrible Card Reader /Policy

We are on #5, that’s right, FIFTH card reader. Shopify itself is a great tool, but their card readers are awful. Doesn’t matter which model (we’ve bought multiple) they are constantly disconnecting or worse giving the “red light of doom” error. We’ve checked our wifi, updated our systems, and are ULTRA careful about not moving our reader just in case. Haven’t had reader issues with other companies thus far. Be prepared to drop $$$$ for card readers, and if they simply stop working- don’t expect Shopify to help or offer a reimbursement. As a previous user stated, we have to constantly manual enter credit cards. We lose out on sales, especially if folks don’t carry their physical cards on them and expect to pay via tap. Everything else seems to work great.

Todays update broke the App

Updated to new version of app this morning. After launching the app I had to sign back in. After signing in, I cannot get past the “select location” screen because the locations do not load. PLEASE FIX ASAP

Can’t login

Stuck on the select location input during the login process. I tried logging in with a code instead and over and over the web browser page told me it worked but when I went back to the app it was still logged out. Won’t use this at my event today if I can’t get in!
