Seems like a decent POS app, but what happened to the ability to add and edit products? I use Shopify for my webstore, not my POS, so I want to be able to manage products and process my online orders. What happened to the original app?

The app update wont load and i use shopify in my store !!! Please fix as i cannot take any sales in my store until this is fixed!!!! HELP!!!!!!
Its great to have a POS for the iPad but it doesnt allow any management control. -1.5 stars Cant print reports from what Ive seen. -0.5 star. I have to use my laptop or my iPhone. I would think if an iPhone could handle adding products and fulfilling orders, so could the iPad. I could be missing something and if so Ill change my rating. Thanks!
Do yourself a favor and check out the forums on Shopify’s site and read about the issues with sales tax reporting. Until they fix these it should be avoided.
We have tried most other major POS apps and have found Shopify to be the best. If youre using Shopifys online store and want to sell in a retail shop or popup this is the best option. Everything syncs beautifully and the credit card merchant fees are the lowest we have seen (but there are monthly charges for your store, FYI).
Gave 5 stars because of the "sample" records used in the tutorial screen.
Amazing app! Exactly what I needed. Makes running our business simpler and easily organized. My husband , whom found all technology frustrating & foreign, navigates through the app like a pro! Sure wish this app was available when we expanded our biz 4 years ago!
The app is free but it will cost you a minimum of 30.00 to use this. Which they were upfront I would never have started to set this up. Wasted a lot of my time.
Ive been a Shopify customer for 2.5 years, and while I have a great need for this type of app, I feel as though Shopify not only dropped the ball while writing it, theyve been completely non-responsive to the many support tickets I have filed with them. A handful of issues are as follows: - App crashes constantly with stores containing "too many" products (exact number was not provided). - App crashes constantly with stores containing "too many" collections (exact number was not provided). - App crashes randomly. Support claims I may not have enough memory on my iPad Mini, however memory requirements arent listed anywhere. - App will only handle Cash payments or Shopify Payments. Enabling Shopify Payments on the app removes your current Payment Gateway on your site; in other words, you cannot use Paypal online and accept Paypal in-store through this app. - App crashes when you switch in/out of app (like if youre trying to take Paypal Payments using the Paypal app), resulting in lost cart, and wasted customer time. - Worst of all, Customer Support told us for over 10 months that it was working fine on their end, therefor they couldnt help me with my problems. While I understand that its hard to fix a problem that cannot be reproduced by the techs, the answer "let us know if it happens again" stops being a viable response after the 4th or 5th complaint. Id really love for this app to be better... sadly, Shopify is on to the next "improvement" to their system. Sad, really. :^L
Just updated to 2.4. Connecting to network receipt printer and therefore to cash draw is broken. Cannot conduct cash business. Cannot print my customers a receipt. POS is right.
This has to be some of the worst software I have seen in a while. Not even usable at this point. You cant change the price of an item. That was asked for in the last app for months on end and we finally got it. But its missing from here. Do you listen to your customers? It doesnt seem so with this app. Not sure where youre going with this but it needs a heck of a lot more work before its even valid. When you click on orders you go to the old app. You supposedly can save orders in progress I dont see where we can do that. Deleting this app until it becomes worth my time. And hoping the old original app doesnt have anymore further changes. When I click to open store in Safari I go to my actual webpage know where where I can edit like before. This really makes me want to consider my long-term relationship with shop a fight as any kind of website or POS system. At least its accurate by the title. POS!!
How come you can only take a percentage discount for items on the iPhone version? You should be able to make a dollar amount discount. No one wants to figure out what percentages to type in for discounts, just give us a straight dollar amount to take off products if we need.
This would be great, but the App doesnt incorporate any of variable fields (color, size, length, model, style, etc) that can be added via Apps in the Shopify Apps store (Customizer). It only offers the variable fields that can be created in each product, but which is also limited to 100 skew max. Would require someone to capture product variables manually in the notes which defeats the purpose. Would think you could marry Shopify Apps functionality to web and this POS App.
Only allows one login, should allow for multiple stores Should be able to show by collection Shows offline items (shouldnt show items you cant purchase) Once you click settings youre stuck and cant get out of it Fail... I really wonder if shopify even tests these apps let alone tries to use in real world
It would be great if there was an option to also change discount amount by dollar amount.
Why would anyone release an app that is so completely underdeveloped. It can do about 2 things and its manual at that. Where is the barcode scanner via my camera? Why does one of the two things in the main menu send me to the other shopify app to do it? Shopify, dont spend investment dollars in this junk and give it back to me on my monthly rate instead.
Wish I could.
Another mistake from this inept company, who would rather throw junk out on the market rather than getting it right from the start. It simply does not work.
As a first time business owner I needed something for a direct point of sale. I looked into local banks and even Square but the rates were much higher. So did some online reacher and went with the reviews. I couldnt be happier! APP works great on my iPhone 5S. Clients like how fast it is and I love the itemization it gives you. All in all a great affordable system- wont be changing anytime soon.
Im curious to know what happened to the other comments. I left a comment some time ago, same issues still occur. 1. It doesnt tell me which items are out of stock. It is very inconvenient to go back to the Shopify app to see my inventory. Shopify POS should be able to tell you how many items are on stock 2. Sometimes The items still show on the shopping cart even after the purchase has been completed. The app forecloses before I complete the purchase. 3. The app doesnt update the tax information. Regardless of where I sell, it will always calculate the Los Angeles Tax, even if I sell in other counties.
